July 11 - Ms. Jeanne Knight Thornton

The Greene County Historical Society is pleased to host Ms. Jeanne Knight Thornton on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 6 pm at the GCHS Headquarters in Eutaw AL. Ms. Thornton will give a fascinating presentation on the history of the Healing Springs Health Resort that was owned by her grandparents. In the early 1900s, people with all types of ailments came from far away to use the healing waters that flowed from numerous springs located at the resort. Although closed in 1957, many people still seek to procure the springs’ healing waters that flow at the historic site.
